our angel gabriel turns six!

gabey is six!!
he had a pretty awesome birthday this year.

a couple days before his birthday, he got to bring treats to his class and it was so fun for me to go into his classroom and watch his teacher and classmates celebrate him!

then, the day before his birthday he had a party with friends in our back yard. it was such a warm day that he had to change his clothes after taking a photo with his balloons.

we had a pokemon sticker craft station, some yummy snacks, of course our traditional pass the parcel, and a fun game of dodgeball! kids had fun playing on the swing and trampoline and in the treehouse, and of course the most chaotic part was present opening at the end 🙂 it was a blast celebrating our gabe!

that night i told gabriel the story of the day he was born, and then told him i needed to take a few pictures of his face because this was the last time i’d see his five-year-old face! after he was snug in bed i worked on his requested poke-ball cake (that was a labor of love!) and got everything set up for present-opening first thing in the morning!

it was an exciting morning, indeed! gabriel is such a great gift receiver – he gets so excited and thankful and it’s so much fun to watch! he got right to it with mo and then when the twins woke up they joined in the fun!

then we had cake for breakfast! gabe’s birthday fell on a sunday this year so we had to kinda hurry to get out the door for 9am church!

after church we played in the gloriously warm and sunny backyard…

…and then we got out the birth pool!!
everyone had a blast splashing and playing in the very tub where our angel gabriel was born on that very day, six years ago.
