moses’s baptism day 🕊

july 21, 2024 was moses’s baptism day! it was so, so special.

moses was baptised in the same clothes that i wore thirty years before, and that his grandfather wore seventy years ago! he was so lucky to have both sets of wonderful grandparents with him on his special day.

plus a whole big group of aunts, uncles, and cousins supporting him and his choice to follow jesus!

moses asked me to lead the little meeting we had before he was baptised in the lake. he asked his grammie and his brother gabriel to lead the songs, and his cousin zara and his grandfather to share short messages about baptism and the holy ghost.

we all walked down to the water to watch moses get baptised. he had asked his grandma and his mom to be the official witnesses of the ordinance, and he was so excited to have his dad be the one to baptise him.

moses was beaming as he listened to the baptism prayer and as he came out of the water!

while mo got dried off and changed, we went up to the lighthouse (my parents’ house up on the hill overlooking the lake) and all the attendees wrote a special message to moses (that i later put in a book for him). then we all got to witness moses’s confirmation as he received the gift of the holy ghost – blessed by his dad and surrounded by grandpas, uncles and one old-enough cousin!

we celebrated with creamies (moses double fisted his two ice cream bars with his cast back on!). later that evening we played on the green with cousins and bubbles (so fun to have aunt rachel and her boys there along with eyre cousins!) and at sunset moses skipped rocks with faith and etta at the beach.

moses has a sincere desire to follow jesus and we were all so happy to support him in his baptism! i’ll remember this special day forever.
