moses had a great eighth birthday – a friend party the day before, lots of fun with his family the day of, and a little celebration with extended family when we arrived at bear lake that evening. unfortunately, in between the friend party and the family celebrations he broke his arm at the trampoline park 🙁 🙁 that definitely made it all the more memorable!

right before his birthday party, moses got a haircut. he loves to grow his hair long but decided he could go for a cut to get him through the rest of the summer! here’s a before and after!:

looking very dapper, we went to bricks and minifigs, a lego store that has a party room that moses asked if we could rent out. this was our first birthday party at a venue, and it was so fun! a bunch of mo’s friends came and built lego cars, raced them down a racetrack, had yummy food, played pass the parcel (we wrights can’t have a birthday party without that!), and built a minifig to bring home. everyone had a blast!

after the party, moses asked if we could go to the trampoline park, and we did. one wonky bounce later, we were at urgent care taking x-rays and realising we had a fractured bone on our hands. such a bummer. moses was a champ dealing with it all, though.

the next morning it was straight to presents, and then on to moses’s traditional birthday piñata!

then, enjoying the spoils from the burst piñata, and on to cake! moses carefully crafted all the elements of an ice cream cake that we ordered, and then decorated around the cake with gummy legos.

after all the kids enjoyed cake, we headed up to bear lake. moses’s cousins had mad him a cool birthday banner! mo was tired after a hard night with his injury and a little overwhelmed by all the events of the past couple days, but he went to sleep happy on his eighth birthday.
